As the new year comes into full swing and Valentine's Day approaches I feel I should write a post. I feel that this year I really need to be touched by God. The coming senior year of college is coming and I need strength from God to help me get through it, which I know he can give. When I saw a music video on YouTube, I saw this verse attached to the video, 1 John 1:7 which says, " But if we walk in the light,as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." We not only have fellowship with one another when we walk with God, but also his blood, that he shed on Calvary for all of us, cleanses us from all sin. This is the ultimate act of true love. So when you are celebrating Valentines Day this year, with or without some significant other, think back to what God did for us.
This act was the ultimate act of TRUE LOVE! No one, not even your significant other, would ever think to do anything like what Jesus did. Jesus died a slow and painful death on a cross for a whole world of people that didn't even deserve salvation. He gave us what no one else could: a life with him eternally! Some people, be honest a lot of us, get so caught up in the holiday (Valentine's Day) and forget the act of love that was given at Calvary so long ago. This year I want to make sure God gets the praise he deserves on this day. This year every time you show love to some one on Valentine's Day, praise God also and thank him for his gift to us. God is our FOREVER VALENTINE, no matter if we are single or not.
